At Studio 48, we want every child to feel safe, welcome and able to enjoy their time with us. We ask all children, parents and guardians to support a positive, respectful and inclusive environment.

Expected behaviour

Children attending Studio 48 are expected to:

• Treat teachers, staff and other participants with respect and kindness.

• Listen to instructions and follow Studio 48’s safety rules.

• Take care of Studio 48’s equipment, facilities and other people’s belongings.

• Avoid bullying, intimidation, discriminatory language, physical aggression, swearing or deliberately disruptive behaviour.

• Allow others to participate, learn and enjoy the programme without interruption.

• Tell a member of staff if they feel unsafe, upset or concerned about another person’s behaviour.

Parents and guardians are also expected to behave respectfully towards Studio 48 staff, children and other families. Concerns should be raised calmly and directly with a member of the Studio 48 team.

Managing disruptive behaviour

If a child displays inappropriate, unsafe or disruptive behaviour, Studio 48 may:

1. Speak with the child and explain why the behaviour is not acceptable.

2. Contact the parent or guardian to discuss the concern.

3. Ask the child to take a short break from the activity.

4. Put an agreed behaviour plan or additional support measures in place where appropriate.

5. Suspend or remove the child from the programme.

Studio 48 reserves the right to remove anyone from our programme, without refund, if they are found to be bullying, misbehaving, behaving aggressively or displaying repeated or serious disruptive behaviour. This may include behaviour that places another child, member of staff or member of the public at risk.

In serious circumstances, including violence, harassment, discriminatory behaviour or significant damage to property, immediate removal from the programme may be necessary.

Medical information and illness

Parents and guardians must declare all relevant medical conditions, allergies, additional needs and medication requirements during registration. You must keep this information up to date by emailing hello@studio48art.com if anything changes.

For the health and safety of all participants, please do not bring your child to class if they have had any form of serious illness or contagious symptoms within the previous 48 hours. If your child becomes unwell during a session, we may contact you and ask you to collect them.

Photography and marketing

Studio 48 may take photographs or videos during classes, workshops or events for promotional and marketing purposes.

Parents and guardians must declare during registration if they do not want their child to be photographed or filmed for marketing use. If your preference changes, please notify us by emailing hello@studio48art.com.

We will make reasonable efforts to respect all photography preferences recorded with us.

Parent and guardian responsibilities

Parents and guardians must:

• Provide accurate and up-to-date registration and emergency contact information.

• Tell Studio 48 about any medical, behavioural or support needs that may affect their child’s participation.

• Ensure their child arrives and is collected on time, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.

• Make sure their child understands and follows this policy.

• Remain contactable throughout the session or provide an appropriate emergency contact.

By registering a child for a Studio 48 programme, parents and guardians confirm that they have read, understood and agree to follow this policy.

Studio 48 may update this policy when necessary. Any significant changes will be communicated to parents and guardians.
